Pitzer’s Commitment to Ending Sex Discrimination and Harassment
TITLE IX OFFICE AND COVID-19
Pitzer’s Title IX Coordinator, Corinne Vorenkamp, is available by phone, email, or video conference. Anyone impacted by or with questions about any form of sex discrimination (including gender-based harassment or sexual harassment, stalking, dating or domestic violence, sexual assault, and sexual exploitation) is encouraged to contact the Title IX Coordinator to make a report and/or obtain assistance. Supportive measures and resources are available regardless of whether a formal complaint is made.
Until it is determined safe to resume in-person meetings, all interviews related to the investigation of formal complaints will be conducted remotely. Investigations will be prompt, reliable, and conducted by trained individuals free from bias or conflict of interest. Pitzer’s Title IX Policy and its Discrimination/Harassment/Sexual Misconduct Policies apply to prohibited conduct by a member of the Pitzer or TCC community regardless of whether the misconduct takes place in person or online.
Pitzer College is committed to providing an inclusive educational and working environment for all members of and visitors to our community. Consistent with this and in accordance with applicable law, including Title IX, the Clery Act and the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2013, Pitzer maintains a comprehensive program designed to protect members of the community from sexual misconduct, including sexual harassment and sexual assault, stalking, and dating violence. This includes prevention and educational programming for all new and incoming students, bystander intervention training (Teal Dot), and workshops on topics such as consent and healthy relationships that are offered throughout the year.
Pitzer has two distinct policies that address sex discrimination: a Title IX Sexual Harassment Policy and a Discrimination/Harassment/Sexual Misconduct Policies (hereafter “Discrimination/Harassment Policy”). The Title IX Sexual Harassment policy is based on definitions set forth in regulations recently promulgated by the U.S. Department of Education under Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972, which took effect on August 14, 2020. Pitzer’s Title IX policy limits the scope of Title IX Sexual Harassment to conduct that occurs within a TCC education program or activity in the United States, and to sexual harassment as defined by the federal regulations. In order to address incidents of sex discrimination and sexual misconduct that do not fall within the regulatory definition of Title IX Sexual Harassment, Pitzer also has a Discrimination/Harassment policy. These policies are interrelated and must be read together.
Pitzer’s existing Discrimination/Harassment policy applies to sex discrimination and harassment that does not fall under the scope of the Title IX Sexual Harassment policy, including Sexual Exploitation and non-Title IX Sexual Harassment. The Discrimination/Harassment Policy also applies to complaints alleging certain conduct that would otherwise be prohibited under the Title IX Sexual Harassment policy (e.g., Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, and Stalking under the Title IX Sexual Harassment policy), but which must be dismissed under the Title IX Sexual Harassment policy because the conduct did not occur within the limited jurisdiction of Title IX as set forth in the recently-enacted Title IX regulations.

Reporting Options and Online Reporting Form
Reports of sex discrimination, sexual harassment, gender-based harassment, sexual assault, stalking, dating/domestic violence, and sexual exploitation can be made to Pitzer’s Title IX Coordinator, Corinne Vorenkamp, by email (email@example.com); phone (909.607.2958 for private voicemail); in-person when in-person classes resume (Broad Center, Room 212 – by appointment); by scheduling a video or phone meeting; or by utilizing the Online Reporting Form below. Anonymous reports are allowed, but may limit the College’s ability to effectively respond.
You can also contact the Title IX Coordination for questions about reporting options, the availability of support measures, or to discuss any of your rights and options. You do not have to make a decision about whether to report to meet with the Title IX Coordinator, and whether to disclose any specific information is always up to you.
Alternatively, reports also can be made to any of Pitzer’s Deputy Title IX Coordinators, who are familiar with Pitzer’s policies and procedures. They will notify the Title IX Coordinator of all disclosures or reports, but they can assist you with first steps in the process.
